Remembrance Valley

The hurricane of 1987 will always live on in our memories as it resulted in extensive damage to properties in the south of England and a tragic loss of trees never seen before.

 

On 25th January 1990, Britain was hit again by a devastating storm that brought more death, injuries and destruction because it happened during daylight hours. In Hockley Woods, more trees were lost than before. These were left to regenerate and let light into the forest floor. This event was the basis for the story in Tales From Hockley Woods.
